Critter Camp 2011The Lincoln County Health Department will be hosting a critter camp for Lincoln County children ages 9-12 years old and their parents. The camp is to educate them about safe, responsible pet ownership and to recognize and avoid situations in which potential injuries can occur. Through participation, additional benefits anticipated are reduction of injuries related to animal bites, decreased numbers of animals being placed in shelters, increased care of animals, domestic and other. There will be two one-week camps limiting 50 children to each camp: June 21-24 and June 28-July 1 from 9am-2pm. On Saturday, July 2, an Adoption Day will be available along with low cost rabies vaccinations and micro chipping of pets. Daily activities will include education on domestic, farm, exotic and wild animals, and specialty groups who work with animals, as well as crafts; pet bakery, building birdhouses, poster contest, tie dying t-shirts. If interested in attending one of the camp sessions, please fill out the application and submit to Lincoln County Health Department no later than June 7, 2011.
