Grassroots Community Garden
Did you know that over 84% of Lincoln County residents do not eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day (according to the Missouri County Level Survey in 2007)? The Lincoln County Health Department is striving to increase fruit and vegetable consumption by implementing their first ever community garden. Grassroots Community Garden is open to anyone or any organization, businesses, or restaurant willing to participate. You can adopt a 20ft x 20ft area for only $25 and all the produce in your garden can be used in your organization, restaurant, or family. Please contact Emma Epplin, Public Health Liaison, with Lincoln County Health Department at 636-528-6117 extension 408. All donations are greatly appreciated! There will be an informational meeting on May 12, 2011 at 5pm in the Community Room at the Lincoln County Health Department. This is a community effort for everyone to work together to eat healthier, so let’s all do our part because together we are public health!
