The Health Department works in conjunction with the Department of Health, Section for Environmental Public Health in inspecting lodging facilities. Some areas of inspection at these facilities consist of:

• plumbing and water supplies
• sewage treatment and disposal
• fire safety
• room maintenance

Lodging facilities are inspected annually, and the Environmental Public Health Specialist recommends an approval or denial status to the state.
